WHAT'S NEW

GRINDON PARISH COUNCIL will no longer exist after 31st March 2019.

Residents voted to split Grindon Parish Council into two parishes and on the 7th December 2018 Stockton Borough Council approved the Reorganisation Order which will come into effect on 1st April 2019.

The Order includes the following:-

Grindon Parish Council will no  longer exist after 31st March 2019 when it will be dissolved and abolished.

Following this, two new parishes will be formed and named -

1. Grindon & Thorpe Thewles Parish Council (where 6 councillors will be required)
2. Wynyard Parish Council (where 7 councillors will be required).

Stockton Borough Council  has set budgets for the two new parishes (which are based upon the number of households within each parish) -

Grindon & Thorpe Thewles will receive £9,518 for 2019/20
Wynyard will received £25,604 for 2019/20.

There will be an election of candidates, who have put themselves forward to stand on either of the Parish Councils, on Thursday 2nd May 2019. 

The first meeting of the new Parish Councils will be held on 13th May at 6.30pm.  Wynyard's meeting will take place in the Wynyard Primary School and Grindon/Thorpe Thewles in the Parish Hall.

PUBLICATION OF REVISED REGISTER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the Representation of the People Act 1983, that a revised version of the Register of Electors for the Stockton on Tees Borough Council area will be published on 1 March 2019.

The revised register will incorporate changes arising from the Grindon Community Reorganisation Order.Electors registered in this area need take no action as a result of this notice. Electoral numbers in will change as a consequence of the re-publication.
